Accurate, HMRC-Compliant CT600 Preparation
A CT600 must accurately reflect the financial position of your company for the accounting period, and even small errors in your computation can lead to penalties, incorrect tax payments, or HMRC queries. We prepare and file your corporation tax return using a detailed review of your statutory accounts, trial balance, and supporting schedules to ensure complete compliance with HMRC requirements.
Our process includes a full corporation tax computation, adjustments for disallowable expenses, capital allowances, depreciation add-backs, loss relief allocation, and any relevant sector-specific reliefs. We verify that all figures reconcile to your final accounts and ensure the return includes all mandatory supplementary pages where required, such as R&D claims, property income, loans to participators, or associated company rules.
We calculate your final corporation tax liability, including marginal relief where applicable, and provide a clear breakdown of how each component has been derived. If your business carries forward losses, disposes of assets, or has group relationships, these are fully accounted for in the computation.
Once approved by you, we submit the CT600 electronically using HMRC-recognised software and confirm receipt of the submission and acknowledgement. We also track submission deadlines, payment dates, and any HMRC updates relevant to your company.

FAQs
What information is required to prepare an accurate CT600?
We typically need your finalised year-end accounts, trial balance, general ledger, fixed asset register, loan schedules, payroll summaries, and details of any adjustments such as prepayments, accruals, or director loan movements.
How do you handle disallowable expenses in the computation?
We review your P&L in detail and identify non-deductible items such as client entertainment, fines, asset depreciation, and certain legal costs. These are added back in the computation to ensure an accurate taxable profit figure.
Can you apply capital allowances and calculate writing-down values?
Yes. We handle all capital allowance claims, including AIA, FYA, WDA and structures and buildings allowances. We review asset pools and calculate the correct writing-down values for the period.
What if my company qualifies for marginal relief?
We calculate corporation tax using the appropriate marginal relief formula if your taxable profits fall within the upper and lower limits, taking associated companies into account to ensure the correct thresholds.
How quickly can you complete and file the CT600?
Once we receive complete records, most corporation tax returns are completed within 5–10 business days. Complex cases may take longer depending on adjustments, group structures, or relief claims.
